So here I am... thousands of miles from home,in Rome Italy. And I have just had oneof th worst days of my life. So I woke up late, didn't get to do any of the errands I needed to do, thenI fell asleep on the couch, so when Greg showed up to drive me to the airport, I was still in my pajamas. So of course we left late, and duh, after we left I realized I forgot somethingso we had to go back again. Finally we got on the road and thankfully, greg got me to the airport n 30 mins. So I made my flight... which was one of the few good occurances during my traveling. I was seated in Economy seating, which if you can avoid it do, so I was practically folded into my seat. 8.5 hours folded into an uncomfortable seat when all you want to do is sleep, SUCKS ASS!!! Well I landed in Frankfurt Germany at 7:25 Frankfurt time, my connecting flight to Rome, was at 7:40. I got off the plane at 7:35 and hit the ground running. I got to gate C-12, saw no people, and no plane, and no signs of any in the near future of near past. Looking at my boarding past I realized with disgust that I ran to C-12, when I needed to go to A-12, yes I ran halfway accross the airport in the wrong direction. Thankfully the lady behind the counter was very kind and very friendly, helped me find out when I could fly to Rome, and that my bag was gonna be held for me, etc etc... lucky occurance number 2. SO I sat down, read a book that Maggie loaned me. 2 hours later I got aboard the plane, and soon enough I was passed out leaning against the window on my way to Rome. Upon ariving in Rome I got my bag easy enough, found my way to a taxi stand, got a cab and took a hair raisng ride to my hotel. When we arrived I attempted to pay the cab driver the 80 Euros I owed him, to which he responded, "This is only 40" OMG yes the lady at the currency exchange gave me the wrong amount. I was now 40 short for the cab. The cab driver was seriously cool though and took me to a bank, sat outside for 30 mins while I got more money so I can pay him... lucky occurance number 3. The driver didn't charge me for the ride to, or from the bank, and when I told him that today was one of the most terrible days of my life he responded "welcome to Rome"
The rest of the day went easy, I met up with my fam, we walked to lunch, dad almost got run over a couple times, we took a tour of the Collosium, and wandered the beutiful streets of Rome. I am hoping that the rest of the trip goes better, and that the return trip is much less eventful.
Ta Ta for now... or Ciao as they say here!!!!
